Biography
Formed in San Diego initially as a cover band, Electric Love Hogs brought together John Feldmann on guitars and vocals and Kelly LeMieux on bass—both of whom later founded Goldfinger—alongside drummer Bobby Hewitt, who performed under the name Bobby Fernandez before joining Orgy. Guitarists Donni Campion, who would also later play with Goldfinger, and Dave Kushner completed the lineup. The group adopted the name Electric Love Hogs as a satirical jab at the late-’80s L.A. glam rock scene. Merging funk and metal, they shifted toward original material, secured a deal with London Records, and issued their only album in 1992. Mark Dodson handled the majority of the production, yet two tracks produced by Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee stood out. The Love Hogs supported L.A. Guns across the U.S. and toured the U.K. with Ugly Kid Joe.
