Biography
Following the path cleared by Mötley Crüe and Guns N' Roses for glam metal acts on the Sunset Strip during the closing years of the 1980s, numerous groups including Kik Tracee emerged soon after. The lineup featured Stephen Shareaux handling vocals, Michael Marquis and Gregory Hex on guitars, Rob Grad on bass, along with Johnny Douglas on drums. Their RCA debut album No Rules, helmed by Dana Strum of Slaughter, generated some attention via MTV's Headbangers Ball in 1991. However, the arrival of Nirvana triggered an alternative rock surge that same year, rendering acts like Kik Tracee outdated in the eyes of many. The subsequent year saw the release of their six-track EP Field Trip, overseen by Chris Goss from Masters of Reality, which faded into obscurity and prompted the band's dissolution not long after. EMP Label Group put out Big Western Sky in 2017, compiling demos, B-sides, and various rarities drawn from their early 1990s peak period.
