Biography
Growing up as the offspring of Latin pop star Ramón Ortega, Emanuel Ortega developed an early fascination with music rooted in his father's accomplishments. At age six, he moved with his family to Miami in the United States, where he gained fluency in a second language. His initial recording appearance took place in 1989 on the track "Para Siempre Amigos," which he cut with Palito Ortega. Two years afterward, he went back to Argentina and assembled the band Ladrones De Ladrones. A spot on a domestic television program secured him a contract, allowing him to launch his solo work with the November 1993 album Conociendonos, which reached gold and then platinum certification in Argentina. Ortega undertook his first national tour in 1994. The next year the established performer returned to the United States to partner with producer Carlos Alvarez. His follow-up album Soñe received its live unveiling at Buenos Aires' Opera Theatre and featured the hit song "Timidez."
