Camila entered the music world in 2005 as a chart-topping, Grammy-winning Mexican pop/rock trio whose seamless vocal blends, inventive arrangements, and polished production quickly connected with listeners across Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, and the United States. Founded by award-winning composer, singer, and producer Mario Domm alongside guitarist Pablo Hurtado and Samo (Samuel Parra Cruz), the group ranks among Latin America’s top-selling acts in both recordings and live attendance, having delivered hundreds of concerts in 18 countries to millions of fans. Three singles from their first release—“Mientes,” “Alejate de Mi,” and “Besame”—reached number one on the Latin Songs chart, while nine additional tracks from their catalog reached the Top Ten. After Samo departed amicably in 2013 to launch a solo career, the remaining duo earned two Latin Grammys and received a nomination for Latin Pop Album of the Year for their 2014 project Elypse.

Prior to forming the band, Mario Domm spent fifteen years as a songwriter and producer, supplying hits for such established acts as OV 7, Sacados, X-Magneto, Alejandra Guzmán, Thalía, Reyli Barba, Sin Bandera, and Kalimba. He assembled Camila with two younger colleagues he had first encountered during a Reyli Barba session: classically trained opera singer Samo, who was also working as a session vocalist, and session guitarist, producer, and audio engineer Pablo Hurtado. Initially called Altavoz, the trio secured a major-label contract on the strength of Domm’s reputation, yet soon discovered that name belonged to another group. They adopted the moniker Camila in 2006, just as their debut single “Abrázame” began climbing the charts. The accompanying album Todo Cambió topped the Latin Albums chart, spawned two further singles, and placed seven tracks on the charts overall. The project earned a Premio Lo Nuestro nomination for Revelation of the Year, prompting an intensive touring schedule. Their 2010 follow-up Dejarte de Amar—the final album featuring Samo—also led the chart, yielded five hit singles, and captured another Latin Grammy. After extensive road work through early 2012, Domm assumed lead vocals for Elypse, which included the number-one single “Decidiste Dejarme.” Certified triple platinum, the release brought the duo two more Latin Grammys plus a general-category Grammy nomination. The supporting tour filled soccer stadiums throughout Latin America and Mexico, while U.S. dates sold out major venues in Los Angeles and New York.

Following a hiatus during which Domm and Hurtado focused on individual production and session work, Camila reunited to join Sin Bandera on the road in 2018. The two acts jointly issued 4 Latidos Tour: En Vivo in March 2019, and by April the live album had registered strongly on multiple streaming, airplay, and sales charts.
