Latin American electronic pop duo F4ST emerged as a formidable production outfit celebrated for their catchy tracks suited to club environments. The pair originated in Medellín, Colombia, where they assembled in 2013 to highlight the skills of DJ/producer Fainal and vocalist Sara Tunes. Their alliance has produced multiple dance tracks that reached the top of international charts. Prior to their partnership, Sara Tunes—born Sara Agudelo Restrepo in Medellín in 1992—pursued a thriving solo pop path that encompassed two albums issued in 2010 and 2012 plus victories at the TV Fama Awards on two occasions. Fainal, born in 1991, had already built his profile by crafting his own R&B-infused pop productions. The two first crossed paths in 2011 during the filming of a holiday television special and initially joined forces on an album project for Tunes. They soon redirected their energies toward operating as a duo instead, which they introduced that year through the single "DYBIL (Do You Believe in Love)." Within the next twelve months they secured three number one dance hits via "Beretta," "#IDGAF," and "Drop." Their concerts also attracted attention through slots at Panama's Seniorsland, Colombia's Life in Color, and the Netherlands' Amsterdam Dance Event, plus support runs alongside Steve Aoki, Nervo, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Their mounting profile received further confirmation in 2015 with a My Favorite Ringtone nomination at the Univision Youth Awards in Miami, Florida. They issued the single "Love Is Not Enough" the following year.
