Farben

Jan Jelinek, the prolific artist who records both under his given name and as Gramm, generates his most ornate, most dub-suffused, and most dancefloor-friendly work when issuing material as Farben. This alias also showcases his knack for subtle intricacy at its strongest. Between July 1998 and April 2002, the German Klang Elektronik label released six Farben 12" recordings: Farben, Stuck, Featuring the Dramatics, Raw Macro, Silikon, and Farben Says: Don't Fight Phrases. April 2002 additionally brought two compilations. The vinyl-only Starbox assembled the sequence from Featuring the Dramatics through Farben Says: Don't Fight Phrases, while the CD-only Textstar drew selections from the same group of releases yet proved far less exhaustive.
