Fbg Duck

Born in 1993, Chicago rapper FBG Duck spent his formative years on the often dangerous south side of the city, where early entanglement with gangs and street violence shaped his path. He rose through the Fly Boy Gang rap crew—source of the FBG designation—which maintained close ties to multiple Chicago street-gang factions. Violence continued to surround him once his recording career began in his late teens, encompassing a stabbing at the hands of a girlfriend, persistent rivalries with opposing gangs and fellow rappers, and the July 2017 shooting death of his older brother FBG Brick. These experiences of upheaval and untimely loss among those closest to him became recurring subjects across his mixtape series, among them 2015’s Different Personalities, the 2017 sequel Different Personalities 2, and 2018’s emotionally volatile Look at Me 2. On August 4, 2020, FBG Duck was killed in a shooting in Chicago at the age of 26.
