Biography
Born in Northampton in 1947, Flemming Jørgensen rose to prominence among Denmark's most celebrated and enduring vocalists, gaining the nickname Bamse while fronting Bamses Venner, itself a longstanding fixture of the local pop and rock scene. Founded in 1973, the band secured his status as a national household name, leading to a fourteenth-place result at the 1980 Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Taenker Altid Pa Dig," rendered in English as "Always Thinking of You." Across subsequent decades he issued numerous albums and singles, among them his thirty-fourth full-length release in 2007, Love Me Tender, a tribute comprising fourteen of Elvis Presley's most familiar ballads.
