Biography
Born on May 5, 1928, John Mogensen earned recognition as a Danish folk and pop legend while working as a singer, songwriter, and pianist, first achieving visibility through his role in the Four Jacks. Following the ensemble’s dissolution in 1963, he built a solid career writing material for others. By 1971 Mogensen experienced renewed attention, placing tracks on the Danish charts on a consistent basis throughout that stretch. Although he died in 1977, his catalog retained its appeal, and the 2008 anthology Livet Skal Jo Leves, Vil Du Ha' Skrå? rose high inside the Top Ten of the Danish album rankings.
