Fly Rich Double

Hailing from Mississippi, rapper Fly Rich Double fuses the regional sounds of country and hip-hop, linking rural farmland to trap-house energy through buoyant anthems and an easygoing demeanor. Self-described as a "trap cowboy," he surfaced in the late 2010s with the cult novelty track "Yup on My Tractor," which opened the door to his first full project, 2019's The Hickhop Album.

Born JaMichael Robinson in the countryside surrounding Batesville, Mississippi, he developed amid agricultural routines rather than urban settings. Though shaped by Drake, 50 Cent, and Eminem, he initially held no plans for a music career, only walking away from fast-food work once his 2018 breakout single "Yup on My Tractor" took hold. Issued before Lil Nas X popularized the style, the track began as casual amusement yet altered Robinson's path entirely. Delivering lines in a pronounced country drawl, he chronicled tractors, inexpensive beer, and boots while merging standard country imagery with the lexicon of hardcore rap—substituting "horses in the back" for "a bowl full of Froot Loops" on cuts such as "Big Boom."

Even while embracing humor, he worked to establish credibility beyond any parody label, offsetting tracks like "Beer, Banjos & Boobies" from his 2019 debut EP The Hickhop Album with more introspective numbers such as "Firefly." In 2020 he issued the single "Strategy," which leaned further into conventional rap territory.
