Dutch pop and levenslied vocalist Frans Bauer rose to prominence across the Netherlands and Germany after launching his recording career as a teenager in 1987. Born in Rosendaal during 1973, he first drew widespread attention in 1991 through a guest spot on the Dutch television program All You Need Is Love. By the middle of the decade he had established himself on the charts both independently and alongside Marianne Weber, whose joint Dutch number one “De Regenboog” became their most successful collaboration. In 2003 the family-centered reality series De Bauers placed Bauer in the spotlight once more. He later served as an ambassador for Villa Pardoes, the holiday retreat supporting children facing life-threatening illnesses, and in 2004 received the title of Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of his philanthropic efforts and musical contributions. Across the years he accumulated numerous Dutch chart-toppers, among them the 1996 release For You, the 2002 album Close to You, and 2011’s Brand. His fifteenth number one arrived in 2016 with the album Geluk Hoop & Liefde.
