René Froger

On November 5, 1960, Amsterdam gave birth to Dutch vocalist René Froger, who would later break through in 1988 thanks to his hit single "Winter in America" taken from the album Who Dares Wins. Another major achievement came the year after with "Alles kan een mens gelukkig maken (Een eigen huis)," which confirmed his stature as a bona fide regional superstar. He teamed up with fellow singers Gordon and Gerard Joling along with Jeroen Van Der Boom to form the Toppers during 2009. His 19th studio album, Froger, was issued in 2011.
