Biography
Ruth Jacott, born in Suriname, relocated to the Netherlands upon turning nine. Singing competitions entered her life at seventeen, where she claimed victory in many. Her self-titled debut arrived in 1993 and later attained platinum status. Further platinum and gold albums followed, among them Geheimen in 1995 and Vals Verlangen in 1999. A Tribute to Billie Holiday appeared in 2010.
