Miss Montreal

Sanne Hans, a singer and songwriter born September 22, 1984, in Dedemsvaart, The Netherlands, formed the Dutch pop/rock outfit Miss Montreal in 2008, fronting the group on vocals and guitar. Fellow members include guitarist Michi Schwiemann, bassist Kobus Groen, drummer Thijs Rensink, and keyboardist Peter Hendriks. Partnering with 8 Ball Music, the ensemble issued its first commercial release that year, the Top Five single “Just a Flirt.” Six months later the self-titled debut album Miss Montreal arrived in 2009 and yielded the subsequent hits “This Is My Life,” “Seven Friends,” and “Addicted to Crying.” The band closed out the year with the Top Ten holiday track “Being Alone at Christmas.” In 2010 it followed up with the Top Ten album So... Anything Else?, supported by the singles “Swing the Night Away” and “Say What You See.”
