Biography
After relocating to Los Angeles with the aim of advancing her musical pursuits, Dutch singer/songwriter and pianist Laura Jansen produced her initial EP, the five-track Trauma, within just twelve months. Her regular performances throughout the city helped cultivate an expanding audience spanning North America, culminating in August 2007 when her track "Soljah" featured in an installment of MTV's Newport Harbor, the series inspired by the hit Laguna Beach. Holland saw the launch of her Single Girls EP during 2009. Bells reached international audiences that year as well, merging the two earlier EPs with a fresh rendition of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody." English songwriter and producer Matt Hales (Aqualung) helmed the creation of her subsequent full-length effort, the ethereal and rhythm-oriented Elba, which came out in the beginning of 2013.
