Born on 18 September 1942 in Rome, Italy, and passing away on 3 April 2004 in Corchiano, Viterbo, Latium, Italy, Ferri launched her professional singing career in 1962 by performing in Milan nightclubs. She cultivated a strong local audience in Rome that soon translated into nationwide recognition after releasing a successful version of ‘Sempre’. Although her sets centered on Roman material, they regularly incorporated selections from other Italian regions alongside occasional American numbers. During the 1970s she made several Italian television appearances, alternating between variety programs and dramatic serials. Her following remained modest as her professional momentum faded across the 1980s and 1990s.

Returning to the screen in 2000, Ferri reportedly began anticipating a renewed phase of activity while under treatment with anti-depression medication; the medication itself, rather than the underlying condition, is thought to have precipitated her fatal balcony fall at her residence.
