Ivano Fossati

From an early age, the piano captivated Italian artist Ivano Fossati, prompting formal music studies and stints in multiple progressive rock ensembles before he turned professional. His debut album Dolce Acqua appeared in 1971 and contained the breakthrough single “Jesahel,” followed two years later by the releases Il Grande Mare Che Avremmo Traversato and Poco Prima Dell’Aurora. Across his career Fossati explored an expansive range of musical styles while playing numerous instruments. He also wrote film scores for Il Toro in 1994 and L’Estable Di Davide in 1998, as well as individual songs for Mina, Gianni Morandi, and other leading Italian performers.
