Biography
Early 2004 marked the formation of five-piece Get Him Eat Him in Providence, Rhode Island. Brown University students Matt LeMay on vocals and guitar—who moonlights as a music journalist—bassist Joe Posner, guitarist Jason Sigal, keyboardist Raf Spielman, and drummer Jeff Wood quickly caught the ear of Absolutely Kosher with their quirky indie rock, a style that recalled the work of Ted Leo, the New Pornographers, and the Wrens. Their debut album Geography Cones appeared in 2005 and was trailed by a tour that spawned accompanying EPs available only on the road. After Spielman departed amicably, the band recruited keyboardist Kevin Sparks and pressed ahead with the 2007 full-length Arms Done, whose tracks often originated in earlier forms on those tour EPs.
