Biography
Drawing from gritty rock & roll rhythms alongside aggressive pop-punk guitar work, Glasseater forged a distinctive take on energetic, unpolished punk. Formed in Miami, FL, during 1998, the group began as a two-piece featuring J.C. on guitar and Julio C. Marin behind the drums. Once several rehearsals and original songs had taken shape, Ariel Arro joined on guitar and Willy took over bass duties, with Jason Calleiro soon stepping in as vocalist. Ahead of their initial tour, Willy exited the lineup and Anthony Lopez came aboard to handle bass. The band’s high-voltage, aggressive stage presence soon attracted Ides of March Records, leading to a recording contract. In 1999 Glasseater tracked their first full-length release, Miles Ahead of Where We Left Off, before heading out on another relentless run of shows. The group subsequently aligned with Eulogy Recordings and issued the follow-up album 7 Years Bad Luck. After sharing bills with acts such as Black Flag, 311, Dashboard Confessional, and Pennywise, the Florida outfit moved to Fearless Records and entered the studio to lay down a third full-length effort.
