Americana-inspired Swedish duo Good Harvest originated in 2010 when singer/guitarists Hanna Enlöf and Ylva Eriksson decided to team up. The pair first crossed paths at fifteen in their native Falun after both entered the same folk-pop group, instantly sensing a deep connection through their admiration for Simon & Garfunkel, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, and Gillian Welch. Once that ensemble disbanded they carried forward as a twosome, shifting from reinterpretations of their influences toward original songs. Exceptional on vocals and instruments alike, they developed a rich, warm, and detailed country-folk approach defined by exquisite vocal blends and dynamic interlocking fingerpicking that projected the weight of a far larger ensemble. Steady touring helped them cultivate a loyal following before they independently issued their first EP, Bottom Dollar, in 2014 to strong acclaim. Further digital singles sustained their visibility, leading to appearances at SXSW and Stockholm Music & Arts while also performing for the King of Sweden, appearing on national television, and receiving Newcomer of the Year honors at the Dalecarlia Music Awards, which recognize talent from their home region of Dalarna. In 2016 they joined Roxette guitarist Per Gessle’s Space Station 12 imprint and issued their version of the Joni Mitchell standard “Woodstock,” whose live-in-the-studio video posted on Facebook rapidly accumulated nearly two million views within fourteen days. Later that year came the single “Charly,” followed in 2017 by the full-length In a Life and Place Like This. Erik Berglund (Solen, Many Voices Speak) produced the album, which featured bassist Svante Henryson and drummer Björn Sima expanding the core sound.
