Graveworm, an Italian outfit established in 1992, have issued multiple intricate albums fusing gothic and symphonic touches with black metal, among them 1997's When Daylight's Gone, 1999's As the Angels Reach the Beauty, 2001's widely praised Scourge of Malice, and 2003's Engraved in Black, together with several EPs. Those releases prompted likenings to Norway's Dimmu Borgir, Britain's Cradle of Filth, and additional peers, after which the present roster—vocalist Stefan Fiori, guitarists Harry Klenk and Orgler Thomas, keyboardist Sabine Mair, bassist Eric Righi, and drummer Martin Innerbichler—finished the group's fifth studio album, (N)utopia, slated for 2005.
