Texas guitarist Hamilton Loomis entered the world and spent his formative years in Galveston. Raised in a household filled with music, he cultivated his talents as a multi-instrumentalist while still a teenager, taking up drums, piano, guitar, and harmonica. By the time he reached 14, he had begun composing, orchestrating, and staging his own songs. He assembled a family-based vocal ensemble and landed high-profile bookings, among them an appearance at the Delta Blues Festival. During his initial touring experiences, he crossed paths with and gained instruction from blues legends Bo Diddley, Johnny Copeland, Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, and Albert Collins. His debut recording, Hamilton, arrived in 1994 and secured a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Album of the Year. Just Gimme One Night followed as his next release, with both All Fired Up and Live: Highlights issued in 2000. That same year he demonstrated his acting range by portraying Trevor in the VH1 original movie At Any Cost. After signing to Blind Pig Records, he delivered his first album for the label, Kickin' It, in 2003, then returned with Ain't Just Temporary in 2007.
