Biography
Handsome Devil came together as a pop-punk outfit during the spring of 2000, its lineup featuring Danny Walker on vocals and guitar alongside Billie Stevens on guitar, Keith Morgan on drums, and Darren Roberts on bass. Emerging from Orange County, CA—the same locale that produced Lit, No Doubt, and Social Distortion—the band shares sonic parallels with those earlier acts, drawing on a wide range of inspirations including the Clash, Ozzy, the Beatles, the Descendents, and Elvis Costello that molded their distinctive approach. Soon after assembling, they inked a deal with Lit’s Dirty Martini imprint and began touring as openers for Zebrahead and Sprung Monkey. Their first album, Love & Kisses From the Underground, appeared in September of 2001.
