Harlequin

In 1975 bassist Ralph James assembled Harlequin by recruiting vocalist George Belanger, guitarist John Hannah, keyboard player John White and drummer Denton Young. Four years afterward the Winnipeg band landed a contract with Epic, which initiated a run of Canadian successes that began with the track “Survive.” Personnel shifts followed as the group matured, with Glen Willows taking Hannah’s guitar position, Gary Golden assuming John White’s keyboard role and David Budzak replacing Denton Young behind the drums. Harlequin’s releases comprise Victim of a Song (1979), Love Crime (1980) and Harlequin’s Greatest Hits (1986).
