Hailing from Coventry, England, Holy Goof crafts and performs a high-octane fusion of bassline house, garage, grime, and additional strains of bass-driven British club music. Hip-hop dominated his early listening before the tougher, groove-oriented wing of the UK dance underground captured his attention. As a teenager he divided his time between studio work, DJ sets, and amateur boxing, in which he captured multiple titles, at one stage even parting with his production gear and decks. He later stepped away from the ring to concentrate fully on music, generating hard-hitting records marked by swift, charging rhythms and weighty bass drops. A series of EPs surfaced on Certified Bangers and Party Like Us Records in 2015, earning the approval of leading bassline and garage selectors such as Flava D and Royal T. London audiences first encountered him live in 2016, after which further prominent engagements followed at Boiler Room and Brixton Academy. The 2017 collaboration “Push It” with UK bass veteran DJ Zinc appeared on Bingo Bass, the same year Holy Goof began issuing material through his own HGMusic label. Prior guest spots on Fabriclive mixes by My Nu Leng and Flava D led to his own contribution, Fabriclive 97, which arrived in March 2018.
