Originating from Birmingham, England, Nathan Gerald records as Preditah and ranked among the foremost producers fueling the instrumental resurgence of grime across the 2010s. His beats deliver the expected weight of bass and angular edges, yet they foreground melodies and chord progressions. Brassy orchestral synthesizer tones surface regularly, imparting an added sense of grandeur. While certain cuts lean sinister, they steer clear of the outright abrasiveness typical of many peers in the genre and instead draw bouncy momentum from U.K. garage and bassline.

Preditah entered the scene in 2011 via the four-song Solitaire EP, which promptly drew the ear of Boy Better Know’s JME. Before the year closed he issued the Eightsome EP and supplied remixes for Trim and Roots Manuva. Further EPs followed over the next several years; 2012’s giddy Circles proved a standout, and his “Vinyls VIP” ranked among the highlights of Big Dada’s 2013 anthology Grime 2.0. Additional remixes arrived for Danny Brown, Chase & Status, Skepta, and others. In 2015 he stepped toward broader appeal with the house cuts “Supernaturally” and the Craig David-sampling “Selecta.” He returned to grime in 2017 on the Blank Canvas, Vol. 1 EP. Also that year came the mix CD Fabriclive 92, which traversed grime and garage into jungle.
