Born and raised in Hackney, East London, rapper Not3s rejected an academic route to devote himself entirely to music. That commitment produced a rapid climb from online anonymity to a major-label contract. Blending inspiration from his neighborhood’s underground grime community with his Nigerian heritage, Not3s advanced the Afro-bashment sound via the track “Addison Lee,” issued in early 2017. After the song amassed a huge amount of online views, Relentless Records—home to Professor Green and Nadia Rose—issued it as Not3s’ debut single a few months afterward, followed soon after by the tracks “Notice” and “Aladdin.”
