U.K. rapper Dave crafts intricate narratives through his rhymes, weaving commentary on societal concerns with intimate personal revelations. Early notice from Drake propelled immediate visibility for the 2016 debut EP Six Paths, after which both his visibility and creative range expanded via later projects such as the chart-topping 2019 studio debut Psychodrama and its 2021 successor We're All Alone in This Together. Subsequent singles "Starlight" in 2022 and "Sprinter" from the 2023 release Split Decision alongside Central Cee also reached the summit, while further appearances included tracks by Burna Boy and Lyrical Lemonade.

Born David Omoregie in Brixton's South London neighborhood in 1998 before relocating to Streatham, the artist known as Santan Dave drew early motivation toward creative pursuits from his older brothers. Initial experiments with animation gave way to piano studies, ultimately leading him to commit fully to MC work. When those brothers received long prison terms, Dave responded by immersing himself more completely in music, forging a socially conscious style of lyricism that distinguished him among contemporaries.

Although he began composing verses near age ten, his first public showing arrived six years afterward through a 2015 freestyle on the underground U.K. rap platform Bl@ckbox. The following January brought the music video and single "JKYL+HYD," which reinforced his focus on layered themes and intricate writing. Two notable BBC Radio 1 freestyles followed in quick succession—one on Semtex's 1Xtra program and another on Charlie Sloth's Fire in the Booth—before additional releases that included the notable pairing "Thiago Silva" with West London up-and-comer AJ Tracey. By September the Six Paths EP arrived; its reception intensified once Drake reworked the track "Wanna Know," extending Dave's reach stateside.

The second EP Game Over surfaced in 2017, accompanied by live dates supporting the expanding catalog. Momentum built steadily, culminating in the 2018 chart-topping collaboration "Funky Friday" featuring Fredo. Psychodrama, issued the next year, entered at number one on the U.K. albums chart and incorporated appearances from Burna Boy, J Hus, and Ruelle, earning both critical recognition and strong sales. Dave's 2021 follow-up We're All Alone in This Together similarly debuted at the summit, blending pointed social observation with candid self-examination and contributions from Stormzy, James Blake, Wizkid, and additional guests.

The standalone 2022 single "Starlight" marked his second U.K. pop number one, succeeded by "My 24th Birthday." In 2023 the Central Cee-assisted "Sprinter" topped the chart once more and featured on the duo's Split Decision EP. Further credits that year encompassed "Intoxycated" with Oxlade, "Cheat on Me" by Burna Boy, the Tiakola pairings "Meridian" and "Special," plus Lyrical Lemonade's "Stop Giving Me Advice" also featuring Jack Harlow.
