Central Cee, a rapper from West London, has emerged as one of the city's most compelling new voices by crafting an energetic drill sound built on rapid-fire deliveries and raw accounts of street life. Momentum across Britain arrived via the gliding single "Loading" in 2020, then carried forward through the 2021 mixtape Wild West and later cuts such as "Obsessed with You" from his 2022 chart-topping mixtape 23. The number-two single "Doja" sustained his climb before the EPs No More Leaks in 2022 and Split Decision in 2023 with Dave, plus the 2024 Top Ten U.K. collaboration "Band4Band" with Lil Baby.

Based in Shepherd's Bush, he took his first musical steps near the end of the 2010s with the Auto-Tune-laced debut "Over You" in 2017. Early work reflected the melodic trap style then popular with D-Block Europe, favoring upbeat beats and Auto-Tune melodies on tracks like "TRANSITION" and "JUGG." A turn toward U.K. drill came in 2020, beginning with the guitar-driven "Day in the Life"; his gliding flows meshed naturally with the genre's brisk pace, which he explored further on the stark "Molly" and a striking Mad About Bars appearance with Kenny Allstar.

All previous gains were eclipsed that October by the breakout release "Loading," which reached number 19 on the U.K. singles chart and marked his first Top 40 entry through its inventive drill production, lively flows, and commanding microphone presence. The wave continued into early 2021 with January's "Pinging (6 Figures)," a more classic drill cut, and February's "Commitment Issues," which peaked at number nine in the U.K. His debut mixtape Wild West landed that March, entering at number two while expanding his vivid drill aesthetic with forward-leaning beats and broader narratives. Another major success followed with "Obsessed with You," leading into 2022 releases "Retail Therapy" and "Cold Shoulder."

The second mixtape, 23, arrived in March 2022, topping the U.K. chart and reaching the Top Ten across much of Europe. Months later came the major hit "Doja," followed by the October EP No More Leaks. Split Decision, a collaborative EP with fellow British rapper Dave, surfaced in June 2023 and entered the Top Ten of the Billboard Heatseekers chart. In May 2024 he issued the single "Band4Band" with Lil Baby, which hit number three in the U.K. and number 18 on the Hot 100; it served as the lead track for his debut album Can't Rush Greatness, released in 2025 after the further singles "Gen Z Luv" and "GBP" with 21 Savage.
