North London rapper Mostack moved away from chronicling the streets of his upbringing and instead began exploring intimate personal struggles alongside wider societal concerns. His entry onto the U.K. rap landscape occurred in 2014 with the release of “No Buddy” via Link Up TV’s YouTube platform. The track quickly resonated with British rap listeners, which in turn secured support-slot dates on Stormzy’s late-2015 tour. During 2016 he issued his first mixtape, Gangster with Banter, underscoring the same blend of levity and gravity that defined his work. The remainder of that year and the opening months of 2017 were spent on the road, steadily expanding his audience. In summer 2017 he unveiled the follow-up mixtape High Street Kid, which included contributions from J Hus, Mist, Jiggz, and Krept. Throughout the next twelve months Mostack concentrated on completing his first studio album. Titled Stacko, the project surfaced in summer 2019 and carried guest appearances from Stormzy, J Hus, and Dave.
