Born in 1983 as Nathan Thompson in Peckham, South London, British rapper Giggs—also known as Hollowman and linked to the SN1 crew—carried a prior two-year prison term stemming from gun charges into his music path. After dropping multiple mixtapes and unleashing the widely celebrated freestyle “Talking the Hardest,” he arrived with his independently issued solo debut Walk in da Park in 2008, earning widespread critical praise. That same year he claimed the BET Award for Best U.K. Act, edging out Dizzee Rascal and Chipmunk. A deal with XL Recordings followed, setting up the 2010 major-label arrival Let Em Ave It. Three years afterward came the sophomore set When Will It Stop, which paired him with Ed Sheeran, Anthony Hamilton, and Styles P. His third studio album Landlord surfaced in 2016 to strong reviews and peaked at number two on the U.K. Album Chart. Early 2017 guest spots on two Drake tracks preceded the October release of the Wamp 2 Dem mixtape. Several features defined his 2018 work, including appearances alongside Bebey, Mr. Eazi, and GASHI, before the next solo album Big Bad arrived in early 2019. November 2020 brought the mixtape Now or Never, which included Jorja Smith, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Kyze, Aystar, and additional contributors.
