British DJ and producer Sinden earned recognition as a driving force in the U.K. club landscape during the latter half of the 2000s through his wide-ranging selections and unconventional yet engaging productions and remixes, earning frequent comparisons to the "British Diplo." His breakthrough arrived via the Get Familiar night at the renowned London venue Fabric, where amid blends of house, electro, U.K. garage, and breakbeat he emerged as an early advocate among British club DJs for styles such as B-more, favela funk, and reggaeton. Momentum from the event secured him a dedicated mix-show slot on the leading London dance broadcaster Kiss 100, elevating his visibility further. Turning to studio work in 2005, he drew praise for channeling the open-ended sensibility of his DJ sets into a unified, infectious sound steeped in rave energy. Contemporaries including Switch, Jesse Rose, and Hervé pursued parallel directions around the same period, contributing to the emergence of the style the dance media labeled "fidget house." Sinden joined forces with the last of those three under the Count & Sinden name, scoring a massive international club success with the Kid Sister-featured track "Beeper" in 2008. He later served as tour DJ for M.I.A. during the rollout of Kala before delivering the well-received Vol. 43 installment in the Fabric mix-album series in 2009.
