Shiba San serves as the house-music pseudonym for Parisian producer Frédéric Poulet. After working as a hip-hop DJ and beatmaker, he shifted his focus in 2013 toward bass-heavy tech-house that incorporated Chicago house, soul, and rap elements. The 2014 single “Okay” became a significant club success, establishing him as a regular performer at dance festivals internationally. He went on to team up with Tim Baresko and Green Velvet while issuing further material such as the 2018 Back to Funk EP and the 2022 track “I Wanna.” In 2024 he issued multiple recordings with CID under the duo name ALL U NEED and released the single “Bonkers” alongside Nautik.

Poulet first gained notice under the alias Cutee B, creating hip-hop and R&B mixtapes from the mid-’90s onward and also producing house tracks for artists including Bob Sinclar, occasionally credited as Q-Tee Fingers. He introduced the Shiba San project in 2013 via the EP Me & My Doggs. The All About Booty EP appeared the next year, followed by his breakthrough single “Okay,” which debuted on Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird label before receiving broader distribution through Ultra Records. Continued singles on Relief Records and Repopulate Mars helped expand his grassroots audience, leading DJ Mag to crown him “Best of French” DJ in 2016. He founded the Basement Leak label and issued collaborations with Green Velvet, Tim Baresko, and Kevin Knapp. Among the 2018 EPs were Back to Funk, Excluded, and Downtown. Later singles comprised 2019’s “Rock da House” and 2020’s “Runnin’ Roll.” The 2021 releases included “Let’s Go Dancing,” “Get High,” and “Drop That Shhh” featuring Nautik. “I Wanna” surfaced in 2022 and generated multiple remixes, the most popular being Tchami’s version; additional tracks that year were “Ba Da Bam” with Black V Neck and Nautik plus “Freedom” with Millad. 2023 brought “Twist It” alongside AYAREZ and “Are You Feeling This?” Beginning in 2024, Shiba San and CID started releasing music as ALL U NEED with the track “Bring It Back,” followed by the Buzzin’ EP, while Shiba San also put out “One More Time” and the Nautik collaboration “Bonkers.”
