Ingrid Olava

Hailing from Norway, Ingrid Olava works as a contemporary pianist, singer, and songwriter whose 2008 debut album Juliet's Wishes entered the Top Five. Born March 18, 1981, and residing in Oslo, she contributed piano to the country-rock band Shit City and supplied backing vocals for Sivert Høyem, Lukas Kasha, El Cuero, and Madrugada before launching a solo path. After signing with EMI, she issued her first solo single, "Only Just Begun," in 2008; the track reached the Norwegian Top Ten. Juliet's Wishes appeared the following month and also charted in the albums Top Five, while its second single, the Top 20 hit "Back to Love," followed. Apart from her interpretation of Bob Dylan's "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)," every song on the album was written by Olava herself, with playing and production input from Frode Jacobsen, Morten Qvenild, and others.
