Biography
Kristian Kristensen, an Oslo-based singer/songwriter whose soaring falsetto has invited comparisons to Bon Iver, Jeff Buckley, James Blake, and Antony and the Johnsons, first entered the public eye in 2013 after appearing as a contestant on the Norwegian edition of the reality singing competition The Voice. A deal with Universal followed, secured by his soulful fusion of folk and ambient pop, and the label put out his debut single that same year, titled “Sjansen (i et hjørne gjemt i natta).” The follow-up releases “Lyset,” “Kan Du Lære Mæ?,” “Du Som Snakke,” and “Varm” strengthened his standing among the region’s most promising young singer/songwriters, ultimately attracting Warner Bros., which issued his first EP, Før Det Blir For Seint (Before It’s Too Late), in 2016.
