Biography
Emerging onto the scene as a Swedish pop artist, Sofia Karlberg first attracted notice by posting cover versions online throughout 2015. A subsequent contract with Universal paved the way for her debut single, “Bad Omen,” which appeared in 2017.
Stockholm marked the 1996 birth of Sofia Amanda Karlberg Zoubir, who spent her childhood in a household shaped by her Moroccan mother and Swedish father. An early fascination with music led her to begin circulating cover renditions on the internet by 2011. Her 2015 interpretation of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” spread rapidly and registered on pop listings throughout Europe and the U.K. Capitalizing on that momentum, she secured the Universal agreement and unveiled “Bad Omen” in 2017. Two years afterward came the follow-up single “Stockholm Syndrome.”
