London-born singer-songwriter Jasmine Thompson first drew attention at age 13 through YouTube clips showcasing her covers, delivered in a distinctive smoky and eerie tone. Once those acoustic renditions began appearing on charts, she shifted focus toward original material and formed partnerships with Selena Gomez, Marshmello, Meghan Trainor, Zedd, and additional artists, issuing her work via the 2019 EP Colour and the 2021 single “Already There.”

Thompson started posting cover videos near the beginning of 2013. Millions of streams on her takes of Taylor Swift and Naughty Boy tracks soon translated into steady BBC radio rotation and a growing online audience. Her version of Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” soundtracked a Sainsbury’s advertising campaign and quickly rose on the British charts. In September 2013 she independently issued her debut album Bundle of Tantrums, then kept uploading fresh clips; a month later the EP Under the Willow Tree followed. Beyond her solo output, Thompson joined forces with members of the dance and EDM scene, notably German DJ/producer Robin Schulz, who featured her vocals on the 2014 track “Sun Goes Down,” an international dance success. That same year she self-released her second studio album Another Bundle of Tantrums, containing reinterpretations of songs by Lorde, Miley Cyrus, and R.E.M.’s “Everybody Hurts.” Early in 2015 she revealed a deal with Atlantic Records and traveled to the United States to work with pop songwriters Jesse Shatkin and Emily Warren. Her debut Atlantic single “Adore” surfaced that spring, followed later in the year by the Adore EP. After its release she placed fifteen individual tracks on streaming platforms between 2015 and 2017, teaming with Hugel, Eden Prince, and Felix Jaehn, whose “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)” held the top spot on the German singles chart for eight weeks. Her second EP, Wonderland, arrived in 2017 and included writing input from Meghan Trainor, Ross Golan, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and others. The Trainor co-written single “Old Friends” aired on Grey’s Anatomy and received a Jonas Blue remix. Returning in early 2019, Thompson put out several singles that were later collected on the March Colour EP. In 2020 she co-wrote “Kinda Crazy,” which Selena Gomez placed on her album Rare, while also releasing her own tracks “Love for the Lonely” and the Zedd collaboration “Funny.” June 2021 brought the new song “Already There.”
