Inland Knights

The Inland Knights craft deep tribal-disco grooves laced with filtered textures, soaring female vocals, and signature analog synth lines. Laurence Ritchie and Andy Riley, who launched their careers amid the acid-house fervor of the mid-early nineties, first roamed the English midlands under the Smokescreen Soundsystem banner until mounting legal pressures on unlicensed raves, coupled with an abrupt police raid on their gear, prompted the pair to redirect their efforts toward the Drop Music imprint. There they began issuing EPs as Inland Knights, refining their studio craft ahead of worldwide DJ dates and a notable 2001 double release—Tech House Phenomena, Vol. 5, arriving in the wake of Bangalter, followed by the Creative Spaces debut.
