Biography
Jamie Walters earned his greatest visibility through performances in television series and feature films, above all as Ray Pruit on Beverly Hills 90210, yet he also maintained a parallel career as a pop singer and delivered two albums across the mid- and late 1990s. Born June 13, 1969, in the Boston suburb of Marblehead, Massachusetts, he first obtained parts in television commercials and later secured guest roles on series that included Quantum Leap. When the short-lived program The Heights required a theme song, Walters supplied “How Do You Talk to an Angel?,” which reached major pop-chart success in 1993 and survived well beyond the show’s swift cancellation. He subsequently signed with Atlantic and released the self-titled debut album in 1995 followed by Ride in 1997, though neither project repeated the chart impact of his earlier single. Walters continued to pursue songwriting even after Atlantic dropped him and he resumed acting assignments from time to time, eventually stockpiling enough material for another attempt. Joining forces with Leisure Records, he recorded Believed in spring 2002 and issued the album that summer.
