Biography
In Southern California, neo-bluesman G. Love teamed with surfer-turned-musician Donavon Frankenreiter and scenester-turned-studio whiz Cisco Adler to form the supergroup Jamtown. Branding themselves the "Netflix age Crosby, Stills & Nash," the three musicians concentrated on good vibes, breezy harmonies, and strummed acoustic guitars that evoke a sunset on a beach.
Plans initially called for only G. Love and Frankenreiter to collaborate as a duo, yet Adler’s added harmonies led all three to recognize they had become a band. Adopting the name Jamtown, they tracked an album with contributions from guests including Citizen Cope and Duane Betts. The sessions wrapped in ten days, after which the group issued its eponymous five-song EP in the summer of 2017.
