Jemere Morgan, grandson of reggae legend Denroy Morgan and son of Morgan Heritage member Gramps Morgan, folds R&B, hip-hop, and pop flavors into his personal brand of reggae. The 2013 breakthrough single “Neighborhood Girl” opened doors to a worldwide following that supported later releases such as the 2017 album Transition and the 2019 project Self Confidence. He has also worked with prominent figures, among them Wyclef Jean on the 2021 single “My Kingdom.”

Although born in Atlanta, Jemere grew up traveling with his father’s band yet still completed high school, where he first gained notice by singing Mario’s hit “Let Me Love You” at a talent show. His earliest professional break arrived when he opened for his father on the 2011 solo tour; that exposure led directly to the 2012 mixtape High School Drama, hosted by G-Unit and Shadyville associate DJ Outkast. True momentum arrived with the 2013 single “Neighborhood Girl,” which appeared on his debut EP, I Am Jemere. He kept touring with his father in the following years and resurfaced in 2015 with the breezy track “Anything You Want.” Transition, his first full-length album, arrived in 2017 and featured guest appearances by Jo Mersa Marley, Agent Sasco, J Boog, and Gramps Morgan; two years later he issued the second album Self Confidence.
