Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers

In 2010 the vibrant indie pop outfit Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers originated in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. At that time Hertler was enrolled at Central Michigan University, where he launched his songwriting career by playing acoustic sets across mid-Michigan and gradually assembled fellow musicians. Balancing those duties with DJ sets of electronic music, he brought an array of influences—folk, funk, '90s R&B, soul, and dynamic indie pop—into the band’s eclectic palette. Following several solo acoustic releases, Hertler joined forces with bassist/producer Kevin Pritchard and an expanded lineup to produce the Rainbow Seekers’ debut, the 2011 album On Being. Over the subsequent two years the group toured extensively on the Midwestern festival circuit before settling in Lansing, Michigan. Shortly before finishing their next album they signed with Universal affiliate Bad Mascot Records, which issued the sophomore LP Terra Incognita in early 2015.
