Fusing electro, punk, indie pop, and glam rock into a muscular and danceable style, the Belgian quartet Goose emerged from Kortrijk. Formed in 2000 by lead vocalist Mickael Karkousse, guitarist Dave Martijn, bassist Tom Coghe, and drummer Bert Libeert, the group began as an AC/DC covers band before winning the Humo's Rock Rally contest in 2002 with original songs. Their debut single, "Audience," served as the soundtrack for a European Coca-Cola advert, which led to a deal with Skint Records. The electro-charged debut album Bring It On arrived in 2006, after which they received the Best National Alternative Act honor at the TMF Awards and saw their tracks placed in series such as Dirty Sexy Money, CSI, and Chuck. Critical recognition followed with the vintage synth-disco album Synrise in 2010 and the 2012 release Control Control Control.

In 2016 Goose issued What You Need alongside a Willy Vanderperre film of the same title. The live recording Nonstop, captured at the Pukkelpop festival, surfaced in 2018. Several singles issued across subsequent years were gathered on the 2021 collection Something New, which included remixes. Departing from earlier dance-punk leanings, the darker and more atmospheric Endless appeared in 2022 and moved toward a coldwave and industrial direction.
