Biography
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Jonny Faith established himself as a DJ, producer, and radio host only after moving to Melbourne, Australia in the mid-2000s. There his affinity for hip-hop, dub, jungle, and chilled-out electronica deepened, allowing him to become a regular presence in the city’s music circles. He founded the Headroom club night and hosted a show on Sydney’s 2SER.fm while sharpening his production craft. His earliest single appeared in 2010 under the alias Dubwise Drops: the heavy dub reggae-inspired “Bass Bucket.” The Blue Sky on Mars EP, issued by Civil Music in early 2011, marked his first release under his own name. After focusing on DJ sets, mixes, and remixes, he joined the influential Tru Thoughts roster to complete his debut album. Sundial arrived in early 2015, its tracks seamlessly integrating his wide-ranging influences into a bright, easygoing sound.
