Hailing from Lima, Peru, Kanaku y El Tigre form an indie folk duo whose sound draws from the contrasting urban and rural environments of contemporary Peru. The multi-instrumentalists Nico Saba and Bruno Bellatin craft sincere and emotive tracks incorporating acoustic guitars, ukuleles, electronic components, and psychedelic touches. Their first full-length effort, Caracoles, came out in 2011, with the track "Bicicleta" gaining significant attention through its inclusion in the surfing film This Time Tomorrow from 2012, which broadened their audience globally. Following this, the pair dedicated several years to performances and the creation of their subsequent release, the warmly eclectic Quema Quema Quema, issued worldwide via Strut Records during May 2015.
