In autumn 2001, Bordeaux, France, served as the birthplace for Kap Bambino, assembled by dynamic frontwoman Caroline Martial alongside keyboardist Orion Bouvier. Rather than pausing for recognition from the rising indie dance movement, the pair immediately launched their own imprint, Wwilko, and delivered the limited-edition debut EP Naz4 in early 2002. A split LP titled Love appeared the following year in tandem with Martial’s other project, Khima France, and the Neutral EP surfaced in 2005. European music outlets increasingly referenced the group, culminating in the late-2006 release of their first full-length CD, Zero Life, Night Vision. Following well-received appearances at several British festivals during summer 2007, among them Dot to Dot, London-based Alt Delete Records signed the duo and issued the single “Hey/New Breath” that same year; the 12-inch edition of Zero Life, Night Vision arrived the subsequent February.
