Hailing from Atlanta's College Park neighborhood in Georgia, bilingual rapper Kap G launched his professional path through a string of prominent joint projects. Born George Ramirez, he introduced himself in 2012 via the track "Tatted Like Amigos" that included Chief Keef. The following year brought "Jose Got Dem Tacos," which featured Young Jeezy, and 2014 then yielded three mixtapes, among them the pivotal Like a Mexican. The single "Like El Chapo" surfaced in 2015 alongside Ca$h Out, after which Kap G signed to Atlantic Records and entered the studio with Pharrell Williams. Young Thug and YFN Lucci appeared on the El Southside mixtape issued the next year. SupaJefe followed in 2017, showcasing Chris Brown on "I See You," Dae Dae on "I Heard," Kapfe on "CEO," and Pharrell Williams on "Icha Gicha." Kap G next united with Sofia Reyes and Paty Cantú for the 2018 single "Vamos por la Estrella," composed for the Mexican national soccer team ahead of that year's World Cup.
