King Lil G

The sound that defines Latino rapper King Lil G traces directly to the title of his 2015 album '90s Kid and to his enduring loyalty to Inglewood, California. Born Alex Gonzalez and first known professionally as Lil Gangster, he introduced his N.W.A.- and Snoop Dogg-shaped approach in 2006 on the PR Records imprint. His next project, Blue Devil, Pt. 2, surfaced in 2011 on Double 9 Records, the same company that issued the 2012 album King Enemy. In 2014 he moved to MIH Entertainment and delivered AK47 Boyz, whose single “Hopeless Boy” drew notice. One year later came the album '90s Kid, led by the track “Grow Up.” Rejecting a major-label deal in 2016, he instead aligned with the independent Del Records and released Lost in Smoke 2, which included guest spots from Too $hort, Bun B, and Nipsey Hussle. The mixtape Blessed by God followed in 2017. Empire 47 put out Paint the City Blue the next year. In 2019 Lil G appeared on Smiley Tower’s single “Illegal Alien” and issued his own album Eternal, which carried the track “No Face No Ca$e.”
