Among Trinidad and Tobago’s calypsonians, Kitch ranks alongside The Mighty Sparrow as the most widely recognized. Across a career exceeding four decades, he amassed an enormous body of yearly recordings whose scope grows still larger because of an undetermined quantity of anthologies and reissues. Remarkably, none fall short in quality. Listed below are several anthologies drawn from his pre-soca years, offered as an introduction, together with a selection of his strongest annual releases from the soca period; these begin with the early-1980s album Kitchener Goes Soca, in which he showed himself fully able to match any new musical direction.
