La Fiebre formed in 1986 originally as a rock group booked for neighborhood gatherings, yet soon shifted toward Tejano sounds to better satisfy audiences. The band established its independent imprint L.F. Records and handled production on its first album, issued in 1987 and then reissued the following year with the hit single "Vestida de Color de Rosa," a song earlier popularized by Ramón Ayala.

By 2000 the ensemble had evolved into an alternative Mexican act via the release of Evolución and Cuidado Se Te Pega, merging longstanding regional styles with Latin pop.
